The SAT offers the SAT test seven times throughout the year.
We recommend picking a test date based on your estimated college application deadlines and how many times you plan to take the test. On average, students take the SAT two to three times to achieve their goal score, so plan accordingly! If you’re in the spring semester of your junior year, getting test dates on the calendar for the early spring and summer (and the fall, if needed) is a high priority for you.

How Many Times Should I Take the SAT?
As we said earlier, many students take the SAT at least twice and many students’ scores increase the second time they take the test! We recommend that students take the SAT at least twice for this reason.
It’s best practice to take your second SAT on the next available test date so you stay fresh. SAT tests are usually four to eight weeks apart, which is plenty of time to hone in on and fix mistakes you made on your first test.
How Do I Study for the SAT?
Study for the SAT by researching study materials, picking your favorite, and then creating a study schedule you’ll stick to.
We’ve found that our students do best when they prep for about 3 months. While this seems like a long time, it’s a long test with lots of content to cover! Allowing 3 months to study gives you enough time to cover all the content and review with time built in for missed days and breaks.
Our SAT course is a great resource as you study for the SAT. The course covers everything you need to know for test day in an online format that allows you to go at your own pace. Learn more at www.olive-book.com!
