Due to the number of parents and students looking into online learning options to prepare for school closures caused by the novel coronavirus, we are offering our online SAT and ACT courses for free for the foreseeable future.
Just because you’re at home doesn’t mean your studies have to suffer. We wanted to let you know how you can use The Olive Book’s online ACT and SAT courses to continue your studies from home.
One Website, Everything You Need for the SAT or ACT
The Olive Book’s free courses are completely online, and everything you need to study for the SAT or ACT is right in the course.
The courses cover all sections of the ACT and SAT tests with focused practice questions and practice tests, and each section of the course comes with animated explanation videos to help you fully understand the content. You can study at your own pace or follow a study schedule put together by our course creators, located in the Tips and Strategies section of the course.
Furthermore, you have direct access to our course creators through the Discussions feature present on any question in the course. This feature allows you to ask or clarify questions or dig deeper into the material with a seasoned pro. Asking a question through the Discussions feature sends a message to our course creators, to which they will respond directly.

Using the Course Beyond SAT/ACT Prep
We designed these courses to teach you the concepts behind the test questions. Because the courses go deeper than just teaching to the test, their practice questions are applicable for a range of study sessions.
Brush Up on Old Math Skills
Working through the Math practice questions will require you to pull old math tools out of the toolbox – that may have grown rusty in the years since you learned them. As you practice, you’ll re-learn these tools and find them sharpened and ready next time you need to use them.
Practice Your Reading Comprehension
Every English class you have or will take will require you to read and analyze complex passages of text. The courses will not only provide practice reading complex passages but also provide instruction on how to read and get the most out of a passage.
Become a Grammar Expert
We all need proper grammar in order to communicate clearly and effectively! It is especially important to use proper grammar in college applications, resumes, or any professional writing you do. Freshen up and learn new grammar skills in the English (ACT) and Writing and Language (SAT) sections of our courses.
About The Olive Book
The courses were created by a professor at Virginia Tech and a team of teachers, SAT & ACT tutors, and animators. The team crafted every question in the course to teach students and grow their understanding of the material. It’s not just about test prep – it’s about helping students truly learn the content so they can OWN it (and the test!).
